Aquarius Sloshing
Aquarius is our computational fluid dynamics (CFD)-based software package. It provides
an assessment against the Lloyd's Register ShipRight SDA (Structural Design Assessment)
procedures for boundary structures of partially filled tanks and liquid carrying
holds.
Aquarius is based on a client-server setup with a dedicated Linux server to perform the required OpenFOAM CFD calculations. All users connected outside the Lloyd's Register network need a dedicated Aquarius server to use this software.
This site contains instructions how to install the server software and to configure the server so the Aquarius client software can connect to the server.
The Aquarius client software can be obtained here.
When using a Linux server it is often convenient to use a Windows PC to connect to the server to carry out maintenance or the retrieve data files.
Some software that might be useful is:
- PuTTY: a free and open-source terminal emulator. http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/putty/
- WinSCP: a free and open-source SFTP, SCP and FTP client for Microsoft Windows. Its main function is secure file transfer between a local and a remote computer. http://winscp.net/
